Zachary Stewart I received my bachelors in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During my time at UNCA, I worked on an independent research project examining the efficiency of Prolonged Exposure, a treatment for PTSD, within a substance use elevated veteran population via a telehealth delivery mechanism.
Previous to my time at UNCA, I had the opportunity to work in a point-of-care position at a Substance Use Treatment in Western North Carolina. It was my time there that confirmed my interest in the research of effective, evidence-based treatments for substance use and other comorbid disorders.
My research interests include Substanse Use Disorder, PTSD, and the intersection of the two disorders. My profesional goal is to be accepted to a graduate program in Psychology and to continue to work toward discovering and implementing effective treatments for mental health.
