Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies 2022

Louisa attended the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies conference in New York City this fall. She was one of four panelists to give a talk on Transdiagnostic Behavioral Economic Mechanisms of Substance Use and Comorbid Psychiatric Symptoms, led by discussant Dr. Chris Correia. She shared  data from one of the lab’s clinical trials indicating that participants who received Behavioral Activation treatment for SUD were protected against the increase in delay discounting over 12 months post-treatment, compared to their counterparts in treatment as usual. These findings have exciting implications for how BA may be acting on important mechanisms that may perpetuate substance use.
